Key service: Doing the jobs and projects around your home and business that you never get around to.

Can you tell us a bit about your business and how it started?

Over 30 years ago, I built my first ‘posh shed’—what we now call a Garden Room. To this day, it’s still standing strong, which I take great pride in! At the time, it was just a project, but once friends noticed I was good with my hands, they started asking for help.

Whether it was jobs they didn’t have the time, tools, or know-how to tackle, I was happy to step in. Word spread quickly, and before I knew it, I had a full-time business on my hands. What started as a favor for friends grew into a true passion, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless clients create spaces and solutions they love.

It’s amazing to think it all began with that one shed!

What do you appreciate most about working with Harnce Business, and how have we collaborated in the past?

Simple—in short, we share core values. Both Harnce and our business are committed to delivering the best results for every client. We focus on using the highest-quality materials and investing in the right tools to ensure every project is completed to a professional standard that lasts.

Our collaboration has been seamless because we both care about attention to detail and doing the job right the first time. Whether it’s supporting a boiler installation with decorating services or finishing a bathroom renovation, we work together to give clients a space they can enjoy and rely on.

It’s this shared commitment to quality and customer satisfaction that makes working with Harnce such a pleasure.

What products or services do you offer that could benefit our clients?

No job is too small or too quirky! We understand that what’s important to a client is important to us too.

Specifically for Harnce Plumbing & Heating clients, we offer a range of decorating services to help put the finishing touches on their projects. After the Harnce team has completed a bathroom renovation or boiler installation, our services can step in to complete the look—whether it’s painting or adding those last details to bring the space together.

Our goal is to make sure every client’s space feels polished and perfect, giving them one less thing to worry about.

Do you have any promotions or services that would be particularly useful for our clients right now?

Yes, we do! We always offer free, no-obligation quotations and expert advice. This means clients can reach out to discuss their projects, big or small, without any pressure or commitment. Our goal is to make sure everyone feels informed and confident before making any decisions.

Whether you’re thinking about a new project, need a second opinion, or just have questions, we’re here to help. It’s part of our commitment to excellent service and making sure clients have all the information they need upfront.

With energy prices on the rise, homeowners and landlords are looking for practical ways to reduce heating costs while keeping homes warm and comfortable. At Harnce Heating and Plumbing, we believe small changes can make a big difference. Here are some expert-backed strategies to lower your heating bills without sacrificing warmth. Upgrade to Energy-Efficient Heating Systems If your boiler is over 10 years old, it may be time to consider an upgrade. Modern boilers are designed to be much more energy-efficient, helping to cut down on unnecessary energy use. If you’re unsure about the efficiency of your current system, our team can provide a professional assessment. Optimise Your Heating Controls Investing in smart thermostats and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) can significantly reduce energy waste. The new Honeywell Home Thera-6 TRV, for instance, is designed to help those with vision impairments easily control their heating while maintaining efficiency. Smart controls allow you to set heating schedules, ensuring you’re only using energy when you need it. Consider a Recirculation System Did you know that recirculation systems can save an average household 7,787 litres of water per year? They can also reduce gas bills by up to 38% by ensuring that hot water is available instantly, preventing unnecessary water and heat loss. Improve Insulation and Draught-Proofing A well-insulated home retains heat better, reducing the need for constant heating. Consider upgrading loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and sealing draughts around windows and doors. Even simple solutions like heavy curtains and draught excluders can make a noticeable impact. Adopt Smart Heating Solutions Heat pumps and multi-temperature systems are becoming increasingly popular as energy-efficient alternatives. Solutions like Danfoss Ally and Icon2 integrate seamlessly with heat pumps and allow for zoned heating, meaning you only heat the rooms that are in use. Regular Boiler Servicing & Maintenance A well-maintained boiler operates more efficiently, reducing energy waste. Harnce Heating and Plumbing offers annual servicing through our Members Club , ensuring your system is running at peak performance while preventing unexpected breakdowns. Get Expert Advice Ashley, our Utility Guy, is always on hand with expert advice on how to cut your energy bills further. Check out our Tapping into Talent Blog for more details. If you’re interested in upgrading your heating system, improving efficiency, or booking a service, get in touch with Harnce Heating and Plumbing today. Let’s keep your home warm while keeping costs down!

We often get asked by our customers whether we would recommend using plastic or copper pipes when we are doing plumbing work such as installing new bathrooms, fixing leaks or plumbing in new radiators.
