Name: Sarah Faulkner

Occupation: Interior Designer & Curtain Maker

Based: Lichfield

Key service:  Made to Measure Window Treatments, Soft Furnishings & Interior Design

Can you tell us a bit about your business and how it started?

Evie Loves Interiors is a small but busy made to measure window treatments, soft furnishings and interior design business. I work on my own (with the help of my long suffering ‘handyman’ husband) from my home studio in Lichfield.

A major life event in 2013 meant circumstances changed radically for me and my three children, so I started painting furniture as a way of earning some money - it was really the only thing I could do at the time. Then one day a lovely client asked if I would design her bedroom for her - and so began my journey as an Interior Designer!

Since then I have been lucky enough to have been taught how to sew professionally, enabling me to make window treatments and soft furnishings myself, which has now become a large part of my business. Working on my own I have overcome all sorts of new challenges - along with large design commissions, there have been arched pelmets and roman blinds, bay windows with multiple motorised roman blinds, fitted wooden painted pelmets and I’ve even learnt how to sew tailored lampshades, which is now one of my favourite things to do!

If anybody had said to my younger self I would be where I am today I would never have believed them, I feel very lucky my business has evolved  the way it has and I love going to work every day!

What do you appreciate most about working with Harnce Business, and how have we collaborated in the past?

I love that Harnce Business is a family run, local business offering a friendly, honest, reliable and professional service. Harnce Business has the same work ethic and holds the same values as I do as a business owner, being approachable, friendly and customer-focused.

I’ve not collaborated with Harnce Business as yet but am looking forward to hopefully doing so in the near future.

What products or services do you offer that could benefit our clients?

I offer all things interior related. My services range from helping choose a paint colour or wallpaper, to full room redesigns - with everything inbetween. As mentioned above I make all window treatments and soft furnishings myself, either as part of a larger design or as a stand alone service.

With regards to design, I work closely with my clients to help them achieve the home they’ve always wanted. I offer a range of packages to suit any and all requirements - design concepts and mood boards, full design packages, or simply guidance and advice.

Often clients just need a bit of reassurance, giving them the confidence to go ahead with their own design ideas, or maybe they are thinking of selling and want advice on how to make their home more saleable - I’m here to offer friendly advice and a guiding hand.

Do you have any promotions or services that would be particularly useful for our clients right now?

I offer a free first visit with absolutely no obligation and no hard sell.

I’m very aware that sometimes people can be intimidated by the phrase ‘Interior Design’ and understand it can be off-putting to some clients, so it’s very important for me to let people know I am not part of a big corporation, I am a small business owner working on my own, my only motivation being to help people live in a home they love!

I would encourage anyone who feels they need help to contact me, I would be very happy to hear from them!

How can our clients get in touch with you if they need your services?

My website is currently undergoing a major facelift but should be up and running fully by the beginning of May. You can also contact me and see some (but not all) of my work on Instagram and Facebook, or contact me direct using the details below:

The Renters' Rights Bill (April 2025) brings big changes for landlords, including stricter property standards and faster repairs. Stay compliant with HARNCE’s expert heating and plumbing support.

With energy prices on the rise, homeowners and landlords are looking for practical ways to reduce heating costs while keeping homes warm and comfortable. At Harnce Heating and Plumbing, we believe small changes can make a big difference. Here are some expert-backed strategies to lower your heating bills without sacrificing warmth. Upgrade to Energy-Efficient Heating Systems If your boiler is over 10 years old, it may be time to consider an upgrade. Modern boilers are designed to be much more energy-efficient, helping to cut down on unnecessary energy use. If you’re unsure about the efficiency of your current system, our team can provide a professional assessment. Optimise Your Heating Controls Investing in smart thermostats and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) can significantly reduce energy waste. The new Honeywell Home Thera-6 TRV, for instance, is designed to help those with vision impairments easily control their heating while maintaining efficiency. Smart controls allow you to set heating schedules, ensuring you’re only using energy when you need it. Consider a Recirculation System Did you know that recirculation systems can save an average household 7,787 litres of water per year? They can also reduce gas bills by up to 38% by ensuring that hot water is available instantly, preventing unnecessary water and heat loss. Improve Insulation and Draught-Proofing A well-insulated home retains heat better, reducing the need for constant heating. Consider upgrading loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and sealing draughts around windows and doors. Even simple solutions like heavy curtains and draught excluders can make a noticeable impact. Adopt Smart Heating Solutions Heat pumps and multi-temperature systems are becoming increasingly popular as energy-efficient alternatives. Solutions like Danfoss Ally and Icon2 integrate seamlessly with heat pumps and allow for zoned heating, meaning you only heat the rooms that are in use. Regular Boiler Servicing & Maintenance A well-maintained boiler operates more efficiently, reducing energy waste. Harnce Heating and Plumbing offers annual servicing through our Members Club , ensuring your system is running at peak performance while preventing unexpected breakdowns. Get Expert Advice Ashley, our Utility Guy, is always on hand with expert advice on how to cut your energy bills further. Check out our Tapping into Talent Blog for more details. If you’re interested in upgrading your heating system, improving efficiency, or booking a service, get in touch with Harnce Heating and Plumbing today. We often get asked by our customers whether we would recommend using plastic or copper pipes when we are doing plumbing work such as installing new bathrooms, fixing leaks or plumbing in new radiators.
