We’ve recently had the pleasure of working with Alan, who crafted an amazing website for us. We took some time to sit down with him and learn more about his business journey.

Name: Alan Lowbridge

Occupation: Designer

Based: Cannock

Website: www.lowbridgecreative.com

Key service: Graphic Designer, Web Designer, App Designer, Motion Graphic Designer

Can you tell us a bit about your business and how it started?

My journey began while working for a printing company and attending college, supporting printers. The next logical step was moving into an advertising agency. I landed a job at one, despite hearing some negative things about the company. Turns out, the rumors were true—I lasted just a few weeks before they shut down! It was a rough environment, but I figured if I could handle that, I could handle anything. I didn’t get along with the people, so I decided to take the leap and set up my own freelance design business.

Soon after, I received three job offers in one week. I ended up working for a fruit machine company for nine years, which was an amazing experience. Eventually, I returned to freelancing full-time. A fun twist: my dad once picked up a hitchhiker on the motorway, who turned out to be a copywriter. That chance encounter led to some incredible work opportunities, including a project where I was flown out to Marbella!

What do you appreciate most about working with Harnce Business, and how have we collaborated in the past?

What I appreciate most about working with Harnce is the flexibility and the ease of communication—there’s no hassle, just a straightforward, smooth process. We've collaborated on their website, which involved creating and organizing a lot of pages. It was a great experience working with such a nice, family-run business. They’re genuinely good people, and that makes all the difference.

What products or services do you offer that could benefit our clients?

I offer a range of creative services that could really benefit Harnce’s clients. As a Graphic Designer, I create eye-catching visuals, while my Web Design services ensure websites are both functional and visually appealing. I also design apps, which can be a game-changer for businesses looking to enhance user experience. In addition, I specialise in Motion Graphics, adding dynamic elements to video content, and as a Master Retoucher, I ensure all imagery is polished to perfection.

Do you have any promotions or services that would be particularly useful for our clients right now?

We’re currently exploring something new—virtual reality products. This exciting innovation could provide a unique, immersive experience for businesses, and we're excited about its potential. It’s definitely something to keep an eye on as we continue developing it.

With energy prices on the rise, homeowners and landlords are looking for practical ways to reduce heating costs while keeping homes warm and comfortable. At Harnce Heating and Plumbing, we believe small changes can make a big difference. Here are some expert-backed strategies to lower your heating bills without sacrificing warmth. Upgrade to Energy-Efficient Heating Systems If your boiler is over 10 years old, it may be time to consider an upgrade. Modern boilers are designed to be much more energy-efficient, helping to cut down on unnecessary energy use. If you’re unsure about the efficiency of your current system, our team can provide a professional assessment. Optimise Your Heating Controls Investing in smart thermostats and thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) can significantly reduce energy waste. The new Honeywell Home Thera-6 TRV, for instance, is designed to help those with vision impairments easily control their heating while maintaining efficiency. Smart controls allow you to set heating schedules, ensuring you’re only using energy when you need it. Consider a Recirculation System Did you know that recirculation systems can save an average household 7,787 litres of water per year? They can also reduce gas bills by up to 38% by ensuring that hot water is available instantly, preventing unnecessary water and heat loss. Improve Insulation and Draught-Proofing A well-insulated home retains heat better, reducing the need for constant heating. Consider upgrading loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and sealing draughts around windows and doors. Even simple solutions like heavy curtains and draught excluders can make a noticeable impact. Adopt Smart Heating Solutions Heat pumps and multi-temperature systems are becoming increasingly popular as energy-efficient alternatives. Solutions like Danfoss Ally and Icon2 integrate seamlessly with heat pumps and allow for zoned heating, meaning you only heat the rooms that are in use. Regular Boiler Servicing & Maintenance A well-maintained boiler operates more efficiently, reducing energy waste. Harnce Heating and Plumbing offers annual servicing through our Members Club , ensuring your system is running at peak performance while preventing unexpected breakdowns. Get Expert Advice Ashley, our Utility Guy, is always on hand with expert advice on how to cut your energy bills further. Check out our Tapping into Talent Blog for more details. We often get asked by our customers whether we would recommend using plastic or copper pipes when we are doing plumbing work such as installing new bathrooms, fixing leaks or plumbing in new radiators.
